The 5 beaches to visit on Lake Como

Even for those who live in northern Italy, far from the coast, there is a great opportunity to enjoy beautiful days at the beach under the summer sun. Lake Como, in fact, has enchanting places where you can sunbathe or relax with your feet in the water.

Real glimpses of paradise, surrounded by nature, with sandy or pebble beaches, but always wide enough to welcome many tourists and locals who want to experience a refreshing summer.

In all, in fact, there are no less than 170 kilometres of coastline here, and in this article we will tell you which of these compete in our opinion for the title of the most beautiful beach on Lake Como, and which should be visited at least once.

Bellagio

In the picturesque town of San Giovanni lies a natural jewel: the Bellagio beach. This enchanting piece of paradise is an oasis of tranquillity, with no establishments or commercial activities, and is therefore a great place to bathe in Como for free.

Accessing it requires a short walk along a path, after the car has been left on the main road, where you will also be able to see a variety of flora and vegetation, making for a bathing experience immersed in nature.

Lido di Faggeto

Situated in a picturesque setting between Como and Bellagio, on the eastern shore of the lake, Lido di Faggeto is a charming seaside oasis. With an atmosphere reminiscent of American beach bars, this place enchants visitors coming from Como, being easily accessible by car, bus or boat and being only 10 km away.

It overlooks an always swimmable part of the lake, thanks to nearby springs that guarantee constant fresh water. Perfect for relaxation, fun, and refreshing bathing, it offers sunbeds, pitches, and sofas for maximum comfort.

The beach bar serves beers and cocktails, enriching the experience, while the golden sandy beach invites you to relax and enjoy the lake, with the cafeteria offering delicious breakfasts, drinks and food.

Lido di Ossuccio

The Lido di Ossuccio is an authentic lake paradise, for years an enchanting destination for those who wish to spend a dream day on the shores of Como.

There is a vast garden that offers ample space, ideal for lying on the grass and enjoying the sun. Two jetties facilitate access to the bathing area, clearly delimited by buoys to ensure the safety of bathers, excluding boats.

The Lido then offers several options, including a bar, a paid area and a splendid free beach, appreciated for its breathtaking views.

Nearby is also the renowned church of Santa Maria Maddalena, for a visit to the historical part of the place, and nearby there are car parks and the jetty for excursions to the enchanting Isola Comacina.

Lenno

Continuing to explore the shores of Lake Como, one cannot miss Lenno beach. It is a gem with two different souls: a free beach area with fine sand and an equipped one with rocks and stones, where you can find establishments, restaurants, bars and nightclubs.

Both are easily accessible by car thanks to numerous car parks nearby, but can also be reached on foot or by public transport. Lierna

Finally, on the eastern shore of Lake Como, Lierna is distinguished for hosting one of the most enchanting and wide beaches of the Lario, known as Riva Bianca, near the village of Castello di Lierna.

What gives this wonderful place its name is above all the characteristic white stones that make it up, interspersed at times with small grassy stretches, giving it a picturesque view of nature and a breathtaking panorama.
